In this age of technological revolution, what we eat and how we eat are also changing. It is up to us to propose new and better ways to integrate new software applications and innovative devices in the area of food, highlighting the value of taste, enjoyment, the human factor and a memorable experience.

  • The 3 selected ideas will be supported by the team of GOTEO to launch a crowdfunding campaign on their platform. The participants will commit to complete the advice process and launch their crowdfunding campaign by October 18th, 2019
  • The teams will be allowed to access the co-working space at LABe – Digital Gastronomy Lab free of charge for the first 4 months.

– To improve the back-office processes in establishments serving food.
– To improve customers’ experiences (front-office) in establishments serving food.
– To propose new applications in the following fields:

  • Innovative kitchen and dining area equipment and machinery.
  • Virtual and Augmented Reality.
  • Indoor Farming.
  • 3D food printing.
  • IoT.
  • New/better customer experiences (accessories, products, music, services, personalised cuisine).
  • Distribution, logistics and traceability (transparency, information).
  • Food Delivery & On Demand.
  • Food Tourism.
  • “Smart” establishments serving food/restaurants (management, operations, inventory, suppliers, waste management, business intelligence, energy efficiency, staff training, marketing, finances, customer management and knowledge).
  • Mobile (platforms, browsing, orders, booking, payment, loyalty).

In these calls, we develop a selection process and analyse the ideas’ potential to be developed as projects at the Tabakalera prism, home to the LABe – Digital Gastronomy Lab, a veritable eco-system of entrepreneurship, innovation and technology that aspires to revolutionise the food industry.

To facilitate the process, before uploading your idea, check to see that it complies with the following:

  • Deals with one or more unmet needs for individuals or groups related to the food industry (customers, foodies, managers, waiters…).
  • Brings added value (it is a good idea to check that there isn’t anything similar already on the market, or at least not like you have imagined).
  • Includes a technological component in some shape or form.
